A must win game as the teams around us will be dropping points. Hoping the Goons can nick a point off City, and Stamford Bridge collapses into a vast sink hole in west London, taking teams and fans with it, never to be heard from again. Hugo and Toby will be out for a couple weeks, at least, Lamela's return postponed, Wanyama returned to light training and all else are apparently available.

An early kick off on NYC Marathon Sunday eases most travel conflicts and Spurs will be off until the 18th, so come and get your fill.

Flannery's is the place

Anyone else getting flashbacks to Ian Walker when seeing Pau Gazzaniga's hair? He and Dier saved a very tired and beat up Spurs team today. Huge 3 points.

Jan and Sanchez also played their part. Sissoko worked hard and is improving week by week, on the downside, Rose has lost his pace at least for the present, Aurier is very inconsistent particularly with his passing.
Still it three points and that’s the main thing. We can expect a similar game against West Brom in 3 weeks time, hopefully our injured players will have recovered by then.

Expected some let down today but the level to which we look drained today was surprising. That one was 2-1 to CP all day, not sure how Zaha missed an open goal, and Gazzaniga did the rest on a very good debut.

Speaking of Zaha, with his pace he could be a nice fit for our team - MP can surely develop him into his full potential, really wasted at CP.

On our side, Dier looked like our best outfield player. Jan was decent and Sanchez had his moments but also was consistently bested by Zaha. Aurier looks like he is going to be a liability for us and Sissoko just doesn't cut it for me.

Agree with all the above posts.  Dier made 3 perfectly timed last ditch tackles and I thought Sanchez - who took Toby's position on the right was outstanding.  His reading of the game, stepping forward to intercept CP passes, his commanding play in one on one situations and his forward passing - all top drawer.

As well as our defense played Zaha was a threat and a pest throughout the match.  I supported our interest in him during the transfer window but was a lonely voice on this board with many detractors.  His many strengths and glaring weaknesses were all on display yesterday.   I think Poch would coach the worst play out of his game and he could be outstanding for us.   Despite their lowly current position I dont see CP being relegated - but in the unlikely event they were to go down we should definitely move on Zaha.
